UCI is a financial institution that specializes in granting mortgage loans through real estate professionals. In this case, the team in UCI‘s marketing department wanted to make a corporate testimonial video, not of clients, but of the sales team. The video would later be used to recruit potential candidates for the position of developer. Our aim was obviously to show the best that the company has to offer its employees, so we did six interviews with employees who are promoters and three interviews with administrators. We used cinema lights to generate a corporate documentary look and also to be able to extract the best possible scenery from a meeting room.
All the sound was captured using a lavalier microphone and a shotgun microphone above each interviewee. For cutting shots, images were taken of employees and managers in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as at work. The idea of having promoters speak came about because of the communication skills and characteristics of their positions as salespeople. The production team required just two people: director Guilherme Fernandes and production assistant Renan Laporta. All the editing and post-production of the corporate video was relatively clean and institutional, but at the same time dynamic and intended to illustrate the working environment and daily life at UCI.
